A Romantic paradise that is located in the Indian Ocean, Zanzibar is about 35km off the coast of Tanzanie and is mostly un-spoilt, an idyllic mix of turquoise seas with a strong Arabic influence and palm fringed beaches. Zanzibar is nicked named the “Island of Spices” and happens to be the largest coral island off the coast of Africa. Exciting moments will grace your diving experience as you discover picturesque long pristine white beaches amazingly caressed by turquoise waters or abandoned coves that will help you forget the world and enjoy a breath taking experience.
Another ideal location for diving is the Pemba Island, the island is among the most spectacular locations to dive, characterized by dramatic clear blue water drop-offs and pristine shallow reefs, divers will catch a glimpse of the breath taking coral gardens that are alive with school of marine life and also the great chance to explore native island villages that are almost untouched by modern civilization. The Pemba channel is home to various marine life which include: Manta rays, Marlins, Sailfish, Tuna, Turtles, Wahoo and dolphins.
The Pemba channel separates Shimoni in Kenya from Pemba Island and the channel runs deep till it reaches the Pemba coastline and then it gradually starts rising to create a wall off the coast. Diving is also conducted in the western side of the channel and remains among the best in East Africa. The number of divers remains small enough to allow for exclusive dive sites. With the exception of May and June, which experiences long rains, the weather conditions are ideal throughout the year.
An Ideal Itinerary
- Day One- You arrive in Zanzibar and you will be met by our representatives, you can refer to our website to know how to identify our staff. You will be transferred immediately to your lodge to rest from the stressful trip.
- Day 2-4- You will be able to have two dives daily with breakfast between dives. You will also be able to relax and enjoy the beautiful beaches in the afternoon or you could also explore the islands which has so much fun and beauty to offer. Day 5- The safaris will depart for Stone Town in the morning after breakfast, and you will get the chance to visit the city market which was opened in 1904. Visiting the market will provide you with the opportunity to buy spices and tropical fruits if you desire. It will most importantly provide you with the chance to experience the pulse of Zanzibar and also hear some of the languages spoken by the people. Several side attractions such as the Anglican Church of Christ that was built by Bishop Steers in 1874 on the site that was initially the old slave market, the tiny rooms where the slaves were kept which is the slave chambers and the auction table in the old slave market
